Electrolysis · Cooper City, FL
Permanent hair removal, one follicle at a time. Electrolysis is performed at Meljestic Spa by owner Melissa Martinez, a Florida-licensed electrologist (license EO 3152, Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance). Every session is done by Melissa personally, in a private single-client studio on N Hiatus Rd.
A very fine probe is guided into the natural opening of the hair follicle — it does not pierce the skin — and a small current disables the follicle's ability to regrow hair. The treated hair is then lifted out. Because each follicle is handled individually, electrolysis is slower than laser, and it is worked through in a series of short, regular appointments rather than a handful of long ones.
What it does not depend on is pigment. That single fact is why it reaches hair that laser cannot.
Laser works by targeting melanin, the pigment in the hair shaft. No pigment means no target. Electrolysis has no such limitation, so it is the right tool for:
A note on wording that is worth understanding: electrolysis is generally described as permanent hair removal, while laser devices are cleared for permanent hair reduction. In practice laser gives most people a lasting result, but the regulatory language differs, and that difference matters most for the hair colours laser cannot treat.

Appointments are short and regular. Small areas such as the upper lip or chin are usually booked in 15–30 minute sessions; larger or denser areas take longer. How many sessions you need depends on the area, the density of growth and whether hormones are driving it — which is exactly what the free consultation is for. You will get an honest estimate before you commit to anything.
Electrolysis suits every skin tone. Because the treatment does not rely on a contrast between hair and skin, Fitzpatrick type is not a limiting factor the way it can be with some laser devices.
