Frequently Asked Questions
At Meljestic Spa, we customize each facial based on your skin type and concerns. If you have dry skin, our hydrating facial replenishes moisture. For acne-prone skin, we recommend an acne facial to unclog pores and reduce breakouts. Our experts will guide you in selecting the best treatment during your consultation.
We recommend monthly facials for optimal skin health. If you’re targeting specific concerns like acne or anti-aging, a more frequent schedule may be beneficial. Our specialists will create a personalized skincare plan to help you achieve your goals.
Yes! We offer gentle facials tailored to sensitive skin. Our oxygen facial and hydrating facial use calming, fragrance-free ingredients to nourish the skin without irritation. Let us know your concerns, and we’ll adjust treatments accordingly.
Absolutely! Our anti-aging facial boosts collagen production, firms skin, and reduces fine lines using medical-grade serums and massage techniques. Regular facials help maintain a youthful, radiant complexion over time.
A deep cleansing facial is more intensive than a standard facial. It involves extractions, pore detoxification, and bacteria-fighting ingredients to clear congestion and prevent acne. This is perfect for oily or acne-prone skin needing extra attention.
Yes! We recommend getting a facial at least 3-5 days before your event to allow your skin to absorb nutrients and calm any post-treatment redness. Our oxygen facial is a great choice for an instant glow before weddings, parties, or special occasions.
To prolong the benefits of your facial:
- Stay hydrated to keep your skin glowing.
- Use gentle skincare products and avoid harsh exfoliants for 48 hours.
- Apply SPF daily to protect your skin from sun damage.
- Follow a recommended skincare routine from our specialists.
Yes! We have special packages and discounts for clients who schedule recurring facials. Check out our special offers for the latest deals on skincare treatments.

What a professional facial actually does to the skin
The visible part of a facial is cleansing and massage. The part that changes your skin is what happens to the stratum corneum — the outermost layer of dead cells that dulls tone and blocks product absorption. Removing it in a controlled way is the whole point, and there are three ways to do it: enzyme exfoliation (fruit enzymes that digest the bonds between dead cells, gentle enough for reactive skin), alpha hydroxy acids such as glycolic and lactic acid (water-soluble, work on the surface and on tone), and beta hydroxy acids such as salicylic acid (oil-soluble, so they travel into the pore itself). Which one you get is a decision made on the day, based on your skin's condition rather than a fixed menu.
Extractions, done properly
Congestion comes in forms that need different handling. Open comedones (blackheads) are oxidised sebum and lift with steam and correct pressure. Closed comedones sit under an intact surface and need the barrier softened first. Milia are keratin cysts and will not squeeze out at all — they need a lancet and a trained hand. This is the single biggest argument against doing it yourself in the bathroom mirror: the scarring and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that follow at-home extraction are far harder to fix than the original congestion, particularly on deeper skin tones.
Barrier-first for reactive skin
If your skin is rosacea-prone, sensitised or simply reacting to everything, the priority is barrier function and reducing transepidermal water loss, not aggressive exfoliation. Melissa Martinez, a licensed Florida esthetician and electrologist, treats every client personally and patch tests new actives before using them on you.
